| Boston City Singers Chorus
Divisions & Rehearsals
Singers participate in either a training level chorus or or, by audition, in one of the two concert choruses. The Kodaly Singing Class in Jamaica Plain is for girls and boys in Kindergarten through grade 2. The other training level choruses are for girls and boys in grades 2 to 5. The two Concert Choruses are for girls and boys in grades 6 to 12. Exact placement is made by the Artistic Director, Jane Money, at the time of audition and throughout the year as singers progress.
Rehearsals are held weekly
throughout the school year, including February and April school
vacations. Extra rehearsals will be scheduled immediately before
major concerts. This year rehearsals for the training choruses
are held at five locations, three in Dorchester, one in Jamaica
Plain and one in South Boston.

Program Tuition
Boston
City Singers is an independent non-profit organization that is supported
by tuition, performance fees and public and private contributions. Similar
to many arts organizations, we are always in search of funding to support
scholarship awards. The
Boston City Singers Board of Directors is dedicated to finding the scholarship
aid needed for talented singers to join the chorus. We are committed
to our policy that no singer be denied membership based on financial
need. However, every chorus member must pay some tuition; there are
no 100% scholarships. For families with more than one chorus member,
subsequent siblings receive tuition discounts.
